I just read in the English edition of the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat that the ships of the ferry fleet ‘Superfast’ have changed their owner - and that the new owner wants to kick just kicked out everybody and hired a new crew, that would get aproximately only about a quarter of the salary the previous crew got.

Huh! Sounds like a very ‘chaep’ trick to me!

Well - that’s how it goes sometimes: I just went through all the five phases of the “Million Dollar Homepage -Fever”.. .:!:. ..and decided to write at least a short article about the Million Dollar Homepage.

What happend.?! Well - here’s a short short version of what happened: a young man from Great Britan simply wanted to avoid taking study loans. So he came up with the idea to simply sell a million pixels of advertisement space - for one Dollar each. Greatness!

Now for the five phases: when I first saw that Homepage some time ago, I though (like probably 1 Million other people) something like: “Well. Wow. Hm. Aha.” - and then I tried to forget what I had just seen.
But meanwhile, things have happened: Alex has just sold 999000 Pixels, the last 1000 Pixels are on an auction on Ebay. It’s not too late yet: the auction is still on until 11th of January. But if you’d like to own a piece of internet history, you’ll at least have to bid a little bit more than $150000,-..

Is it now all over anyways?! Perhaps. Or maybe not. Maybe Bill Clinton’s quote from the Brandenburg Gate (Berlin) is just still valid and “Everything is possible”. Maybe.

I took the chance, looked at various other so called Pixel Pages, found a Pixel Page, where you can actually reserve some pixels for free, claimed a 10×50 pixel piece of that page, uploaded a 10×50 pixel TV-Tower and linked it to my Berlin pictures..

..we’ll see what’ll happen..:]

I would actually have enough good excuses for this grievance - but I don’t want to blame any of my projects for not taking the time for my projects.. - ..that would be just too much. Instead I’ll try to make things better - and write about this time problem.. which solves it already half-way.
This might sound a bit complicated, but I think it’ll work..:]

The last post was about the elections.. It actually took also the german government some time to update.. but now they’re ready for take-off - and Germany has its first female “Bundeskanzlerin” - Angela Merkel.
“Bundeskanzlerin” was also just selected to be “the word of the year 2005″. Hm.

There is quite some words beginning with the letter ‘B‘ that are having at least some impact on my everyday life:: last weekend (last post) it was “Bundestagswahl” - the german elections, where not only the “Bundestag” is elected (or not) but also the new head of the government is found… which is in this case the old one.
How this will turn out to be good or bad for whatsoever…? i dont know.

the other “Bs” could stand for “Bombs” and “Bush” - a subject i would like to have a focus on… but i fear that nobody’s really interested. I mean some people have this point of view and others have others. And who the REAL terrorists are and who’s allowed to throw catshit and/or cruize missiles at whom - and when - and why - and if:: how many?! … these are the questions that should matter - but it seems that they dont. So i’ll skip these “B”-subjects again.

finally i may draw a conclusion that might sound familiar to you and me (and also G.double-U)::

First I was not so shure if I should really try to comment anything on Germany’s elections - but now it seems as if I’m already quite involved (e.g. with a project, which is documented in my portfolio) ..so I’ll give it a try and post some thoughts about the current situation.. Well. Here we go..:

The first numbers are published - and it seems as if neither of the two “Dream Coalitions” can rule the country: neither the “red-green” coalition of Gerhard Schroeder’s centre-left Social Democrats Party (SPD) and the Green Party, nor Angela Merkel’s centre-right Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) together with the Free Democrats Party (FDP) got enough votes to form a government.

So theoretically one of the following four scenarious would still be possible:

1) the “Great Coalition”
..between Merkel’s centre-right Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) and Schroeder’s centre-left Social Democrats Party (SPD)

2) the “Traffic Light”
..between “red” (Social Democrats Party SPD), “yellow” (Free Democrats FDP) and “green” (the Green Party)

3) the “black-yellow-green” coalition
..because of the colors it’s also sometimes called the “Jamaikan Coalition”..: between “black” (Christian Democrats CDU/CSU), “yellow” (Free Democrats FDP) and “green” (the Green Party)

4) the “red-red” coalition
..between the Social Democrats Party SPD and the left-wing “PDS/Linke”

At the very moment neither of the four scenarions seems to be possible - or let’s rather say “wanted”. At least if you listen to what “they” say on TV..:)

So - I didn’t see Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11″ yet, but I saw “The Day After Tomorrow”. And with both movies I connect some great hope: that the U.S. of America Mr.George Double-U and his friends will come back to a state that could be called ‘normal’, stop that self-destructive paranoia, sign the Kyoto Protocol!
And, please, kids, don’t believe -everything- that somebody with pockets full of money and a mind full of …interests… tells you!
